Текст песни: Hey everybody gather round And listen to that bongo sound Grab the first one in your reach Now were going to shake the Jordanaires were an American vocal quartet that formed as a gospel group in 1948. They are known for providing background vocals for Elvis Presley, in live appearances and recordings from 1956 to 1972. The group has also worked in the recording studio, on stage, and on television with many other country and rock and roll artists. The history of the Jordanaires can be traced back to the early 1940s, and the original Foggy River Boys, which were made up of the Matthews brothers, all ordained. Do The Clam, from the new movie, Girl Happy, represented one of the low points of Elvis film-related singles releases, a half-hearted attempt at creating a new dance craze, which, whether by intention or not, was more silly than satirical. Do the Clam was written by Dolores Fuller, Sid Wayne, and Ben Weisman for Elvis Presley's 17th film, Girl Happy. The movie, a typically low-budget beach picture co-starring Shelley Fabares, was released in January 1965. But it became a Top 20 hit, and the Girl Happy soundtrack album, released in March, which featured it, made the Top Ten. Since then, the song has been nearly forgotten that is, when it is not referred to derisively as representing a low point in Presley's career, though it continues to turn up on Presley compilations, notably the 1995 collection Command Performances: The Essential 60's Masters II.
